EDUKASI melakukan Pemantauan Gula Darah Mandiri (PGDM) pada diabetesi sangat diperlukan untuk memantau kesehatannya. Di masa pandemi, tak perlu lagi ke klinik untuk bertemu dokter, karena sudah banyak aplikasi kesehatan yang membantu.
Menurut Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) Kementerian Kesehatan pada 2018, prevalensi diabetes di Indonesia bertambah dari 6,9% pada 2013 menjadi 10,9% pada 2018. Maka dari itu, sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kesadaran para diabetesi melakukan PGDM.
Ketua Perkumpulan Edukator Diabetes Indonesia (PEDI) Dr. dr. Aris Wibudi, Sp.PD-KEMD, menggencarkan edukasi tentang diabetes kepada masyarakat. Dia juga mendukung para diabetesi melakukan PGDM.
“Edukasi mengelola diabetesnya untuk diabetesi diperlukan, salah satunya bisa menggunakan aplikasi sesuai dengan anjuran dokter,” kata dr Aris di sela acara pemberian sertifikasi ISO 27001 Teman Diabetes.
Melalui aplikasi, pemantauan diabetes bisa memudahkan dokter maupun pasien. Karena selama ini banyak pasien merasa kesulitan karena minimnya edukator.
“Pasien harus mengubah persepsi. Mereka harus tahun manfaat PGDM jika dilakukan rutin dan memperbaiki pola diet mereka,” tambahnya.
