George A. Romero is the father of the living dead, hailed for his frankness featuring these now ubiquitous creatures. In 1985, The Day of the Living Dead was released, a real critical success. In this eminently political work, a faction of survivors takes refuge in a fortified military camp after a zombie invasion. But the tension is strong between the two groups present, military and scientists. The first wants to eliminate all the living dead, the second seeks a cure. Not to mention that one of the creatures is domesticated, expressing human reactions and emotions. For many, it is the greatest work in the rich filmography of George A. Romero.
A work whose serial adaptation is in the works at SyFy.

A series taking place during the film
It is on October 15 that Day of the Living Dead begins its broadcast on SyFy. For the moment, it is not known which beneficiary owns the rights in France. A series linked to the film but far from being a remake since it follows another group of survivors during the first day of the zombie invasion.
And a first poster was unveiled with a “Zombie sun”. The rays are represented by living dead, echoing an environmental collapse.
The day of the living dead confirms that it will be as political as the film with this poster, dealing (in particular) with the ecological question. Gary Pullin, creator of the poster, spoke about it.
SyFy’s creative team asked to have some of the political themes incorporated and wanted the picture to be bold, funny. That’s why we came up with this concept of “zombie sun”. The shelves gave me the opportunity to hide tons of easter eggs from the series.
