The new HI version of the Arcfox Alpha S has recently started a test ride phase. Thanks to Huawei’s HI smart car solution, the model supports high-level intelligent driving assistance at high-speed and on urban roads, 36Kr reported on July 27.
According to some Huawei staff, it is expected that Arcfox will push Huawei’s intelligent driving function to users at the end of this year or early next year, and the high-speed version supporting the advanced function will be faster than the urban road version. In the future, expressways in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and eight other second-tier cities will take the lead in deploying these functions.
The new HI version of the Arcfox Alpha S is divided into two versions, with prices of 397,900 yuan ($58,931.56) and 429,900 yuan ($63,670.97) respectively. This is the first car equipped with the Huawei’s HI intelligent car solution and Harmony OS.
The vehicle is equipped with Huawei’s intelligent driving computing platform, high-precision maps and 34 sensors, including 3 laser radars, 6 millimeter wave radars, 13 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, which can provide intelligent driving assistance on expressways, urban roads and parking.
During the 23 km test ride, 14 km roads support the intelligent driving assistance function. In the automatic lane change link, when the speed exceeds 60 km/h, if the vehicle judges that it can change lanes, it will make a lane change confirmation to the driver, and then the system will change lanes by itself after obtaining the driver’s permission. When the speed is below 60 km/h, there is no need for the driver’s confirmation.
In addition, the new HI version of the Arcfox Alpha S has voice control, sensing, payment and other capabilities. At present, the vehicle is equipped with 38 apps, which will continue to increase in the future. However, in the test ride, the voice interaction ability of Arcfox Alpha S has not been very smooth.
