Rain and floods: Gard, Lozère and 17 other departments in orange vigilance

The services of Météo France placed in the night of Saturday 2 to Sunday October 3 19 departments in orange vigilance vis-a-vis the risk of heavy rains and floods. The whole country must be crossed this Sunday by a major disturbance, which has already caused damage to the west facade. The rains have also been heavy in Paris and its region since this morning, with a runoff phenomenon observed locally.

Gard and Lozère on alert

In Occitania, the departments of Gard and Lozère are on orange “rain flood” vigilance at least until Monday, October 4. This Sunday morning, the precipitation is localized on the north of Gard and the foothills of the Cévennes. They should intensify in the afternoon and last until late at night. Local authorities advise limiting travel as much as possible. Swimming is prohibited on the entire coast.

At 12 p.m. this Sunday, Météo France updated its alert. Eleven then seven departments were kept on orange “rain and flood” alert. The Gard and Lozère are part of it.
