The Saudi club made their biggest-ever signing by finalizing a sensational move for CR7.
Carlo Ancelotti has praised Cristiano Ronaldo as a Real Madrid legend while discussing his move to Al Nassr.
The Portugal international became the highest-earning footballer in the World when he joined the Saudi side on a two-year deal earlier this month.
The move put an end to Ronaldo’s glorious career in Europe, which saw him play for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.
Ancelotti, who worked with Ronaldo during his first Real Madrid spell, was asked about CR7’s transfer to Saudi Arabia.
“Cristiano has been a fantastic signing,”the Italian boss said.
“We wish him well. He’s a legend of our club, like [Gareth] Bale, who retired yesterday. They remain in the hearts of all Madridistas.”
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had a similar view of the deal, adding:“The transfer of Cristiano makes it clear that the country wants to improve in sports.
“Cristiano choosing to come here is his decision, but it shows that Arabia wants to improve. They’ve brought him in to win the league.”
Al Nassr coach Rudi Garcia has revealed Ronaldo will make his debut in a much-anticipated friendly match against Paris Saint-Germain on January 19.
“It (his debut) won’t be with the Al Nassr jersey. It will be a mix between Al Hilal and Al Nassr,”Garcia said (viaThe team).
“As the coach of Al Nassr, I cannot be happy with this match. For development, to see PSG, to see the great Parisian players, indeed it is a good thing.”
