President Nicolás Maduro announced this Sunday that Venezuelans over 18 years of age may be inoculated without prior appointment at any of the country’s vaccination centers.

“As of this Monday, anyone over 18 years of age can be vaccinated without prior appointment,” said Maduro during a meeting with the Presidential Commission for the Prevention, Care and Control of covid -19.

Likewise, it indicated that 50% of Venezuelans have already been vaccinated with the two doses of vaccines against covid-19 and proposed to Vice President Delcy Rodríguez to reach 75% of the population by the end of October.

The president informed that the return to face-to-face classes will be on October 25. “At the level of all primary, secondary and university education, we are preparing to restart face-to-face classes. We have also thought that the months of November and December are flexible. But for this to be the case, the infection and vaccination rates must improve. ”

Maduro revealed that today 900,000 Abdala vaccines arrived in Venezuela out of the 15 million they plan to import. In addition, it assures that it requested the acquisition of Molnupiravir, an antiviral pill manufactured by the German pharmaceutical company Merck. “I have ordered that Venezuela acquire enough doses.”
