‘Best in the world’: Carra & more react to Salah masterclass

Liverpool taking on Manchester City has proved the Premier League’s must-watch fixture in recent seasons and the latest much-hyped clash didn’t disappoint – in part thanks to a masterclass from Mohamed Salah

It’s often been the two sides challenging one another for the title in recent seasons, and once again they showed why they’re among the best in the world with a wonderfully entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Phil Foden capped off a lively performance with a brilliant finish, while Kevin De Bruyne scored City’s second equaliser – but there can be no questioning who was the man of the match.

Salah underlined his case as an all-time Premier League and Liverpool legend by producing two truly special moments to twice give the Reds the lead in the second half.

The Egypt international did brilliantly to find space for himself before a perfectly-weighted ball in for Sadio Mane, who scored Liverpool’s opener. Then he scored a truly special solo effort a short while later.

The individual display sent social media into raptures, in particular from former Liverpool players and fans. We’ve collected some of the best reactions and most impressive stats here.
