Orlando Pirates are expected to make a decision on Kermit Erasmus, well-placed sources have indicated.   

Erasmus, 33, has struggled for game-time this season, having made only six appearances, with only three of those in the starting eleven.

Having last featured in an official match last year, indications are that Erasmus could be nearing the end of his second Bucs spell, according to sources, with his contract also set to expire soon.

When he re-joined the Buccaneers in September 2022 after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns, Erasmus signed a two-year deal which will come to an end in June. 

“He (Erasmus) is one of the players whose future will be decided at the end of the season when the club is making plans for next season,” said the source.

This season, Evidence Makgopa has been the leading striker in coach Jose Riveiro’s team, while Tshegofatso Mabaso has also been doing well since returning from a loan spell with Moroka Swallows. 

The likes of Zakhele Lepasa and Souaibou Marou are also competing for a place in the starting line-up.
