Le pilote Alpine F1 Esteban Ocon estime que le junior de l’équipe, Jack Doohan, mérite une opportunité de courir en Formule 1.
Doohan a terminé troisième du championnat F2 de l’année dernière mais ne court pas cette saison. Ocon avait une pensée pour l’Australien, pilote de réserve de son équipe, qui doit assister à un Grand Prix à domicile sans rouler.
“Il aurait pu rouler en F2 devant les siens mais il roule pas cette année pour se concentrer sur son travail avec nous, avec le simulateur et c’est très utile. Il ne fait aucun doute que Jack mérite de piloter davantage en Formule 1, mérite d’avoir au moins une chance en F1 lors d’une course,” confie Ocon.
“Il aide évidemment beaucoup avec le travail sur simulateur qu’il fait avec l’équipe et il est un grand atout pour nous ainsi qu’une excellente personne avec un bon esprit d’équipe.”
“Et il a fait du très bon travail lorsqu’il a participé aux EL1 au Mexique et à Abu Dhabi au cours des deux dernières années et c’est dommage de ne pas le voir courir. Définitivement je lui souhaite le meilleur pour l’avenir.”
