Smoking can also trigger cancers such as bladder, blood, cervix, throat, liver, pancreas, stomach, kidneys, and ureters.

The World Health Organization (WHO) also notes that smoking causes more than 8 million deaths every year. 7 million of them are active smokers, while 1.2 million others are passive smokers.

“Undoubtedly, quit smoking. If you quit smoking, you dramatically lower your risk,” says Kurtis A. Campbell, MD, a board-certified surgical oncologist at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore.
