Like other manufacturers, Google works with secret codes during development and preproduction. In the software, new devices have code names and physical hardware has been tried to camouflage. For example, the fake names that Huawei puts on the back of pre-series devices are well known. But Google also disguises itself more or less well and equips the smartphones with “secret” characters.
The last time we saw this was the Pixel 6, which appeared as a prototype in front of a camera. While the smartphone was quickly unmasked due to the design, you couldn’t do anything immediately with the logo shown on the back. It was one of the famous symbols that Google puts on its unfinished devices. That had been done more often in recent years, as one noted reddit user .

But as we can see, this camouflage isn’t really worth much. Perhaps only in the area of production, because not every employee immediately recognizes what kind of prototype they are looking at.
