Realme GT 5G gets Android 12 closed beta in China

The Android 12 floodgate is open and most smartphone brands are rushing to offer up their own take on Google’s new OS. One such offering is Realme UI 3.0 which is officially coming to devices from October 13 but owners of Realme GT 5G in China are already able to sign up for the Android 12 closed beta.

Realme’s Android 12 closed beta is said to contain most of the Realme UI 3.0 features and will only be accessible to the first 700 registered users who sign up. The instructions page suggests only Chinese units of the GT 5G will be eligible and users will need to register on Realme’s community forum.

As usual with beta firmware updates, Realme advises users to back up their device data before beginning the update. Users should have at least 10 GB of storage free on their device before starting the update. Realme also mentions that most apps are still not optimized for Android 12 so there’s a high chance beta testers will experience app crashes and may run into compatibility issues.
