According to UMC’s financial estimates, wafer shipments in the third quarter will increase by 1-2% quarter-on-quarter, with ASP based on USD calculation It will grow by 6% compared with the previous quarter, gross profit margin is estimated to be 34-36%, and capacity utilization rate will remain 100%.
Jian Shanjie, the joint general manager of UMC, also said that production capacity is still in short supply, and he is discussing next year’s orders and even longer-term cooperation with customers.
The market recently reported that UMC launched the fourth wave of price increases in the fourth quarter, with an average increase of 10% in November, and the increase in some processes is 15%; foreign investment is also expected , The mature wafer foundry process will increase at least another 6% next year, and the increase in the optimistic scenario is 11-13%.
U.S. foreign investment is optimistic, benefiting from the effect of TSMC’s price increase, UMC’s revenue growth in the second half of the year will be better than the market’s original expectations, and next year’s gross margin is expected to be further increased to 44.6%, EPS challenged 6.25 yuan.
