From Saturday you can get to the top of Bergen’s highest mountain in just over three minutes.
The new track is faster than the old one, and not enough. The speed can be adjusted.
– We have the opportunity to adjust the speed depending on how many people are in line, and how fast we want people up. It is also nice to be able to drive a little slower when we can, so that people can enjoy the view, says daily camper in Ulriken 643, Amanda Haugland.

The speed and size of the gondolas that can accommodate 50 passengers can eliminate the queue problem, according to Haugland.
– What people complained about the most before was that they had to stand in line for so long, so it is because we have built these masts that we can have gondolas of this size.

Restaurant operation all year round
The braided new gondola lift can withstand wind gusts of 80 kilometers per hour. This means that the operation at the top of Ulriken can be open all year round.
– It is gratifying that we can now have a Christmas table season, says Haugland.
When NRK visited on Thursday, there was little indication that the newly built restaurant was ready for the upcoming opening on Saturday.
