It was in the beautiful Lamm House, in the Luke room, on the last day of the ninth month of this year. It was 6 o’clock in the afternoon when the bustle began to fill the space with so much affectionate overflowing affection. The atmosphere could not have been more conducive and the desired deadline to present our latest book has arrived. With these opening lines, I allow myself to share with you the words with which we generate the corollary of one of the most important days of our life, deeply moved, happy and eternally grateful to life and its immaculate creator.

A few weeks ago, in the middle of a splendid afternoon celebrated in Cuernavaca, during lunch the generous host, taken by the hand of his beautiful partner, confessed to Carolina my beautiful wife – here present – already a server, who had never done “this”. What do you mean by “this” teacher, I asked him between curious and intrigued. I had never prefaced a book, the successful writer, splendid columnist and journalism professor Don Jorge Zepeda Patterson answered me with his big smile from ear to ear, by the way and yet as his popular news portal says, to be his first time it was Simply unbeatable.

On the 4th of the current month when I published in my publishing house El Universal, the best and largest newspaper in Mexico, the column entitled: “Las Doñas, some gifts and other loves”, there when I undressed from the literary point of view – please do not get excited – when “breaking me” as the bullfighters say, particularly the Spanish ones, I understood at once the multiplicity of feelings that illuminate this book, this exercise, this third paper child, which outnumbers the three magnificent children, men of flesh and blood, that life, their mother and the creator gave me; Carlos Francisco, Miguel Angel and David Alonso.

The list of moving thanks includes my educators who are responsible for the blood that runs through my veins; my great-grandmothers and grandmothers, my aunts and of course my mother, always my mother, as well as ladies who with their infinite greatness have bequeathed us a monumental teaching testament in; diplomacy, justice, literature, spirituality and humanism.

Today, September 30 of this ambivalent 2021, in the best possible scenario, the historic Casa Lamm, I will always thank you for your distinguished presence, dear friends, dear friends. I embrace in all its dimensions your blessed affection by honoring us with your company and giving us precious minutes in a sublime way, to listen to these incomparable voices that adorn the headboard; Ambassador Doña Martha Barcena Coqui, who occupies the first chapter of the book, and whom I will never forget from the first moment that I took her hand to kiss her respectfully, one warm night in the summer of 18 in Rome when I had the enormous privilege of meeting her together with her beloved husband, Ambassador Don Agustín Gutierrez Canet, whom I greet with great pleasure.

In an extremely emotional way, I also highlight the present gallantry of Lic. René Delgado Ballesteros, who like Mrs. Ambassador praises the gifts section in the manuscript, appreciated in all their simplicity and bonomia his words, always so punctual, full of emotion.

To my friend Don Cesar Yáñez centeno, companion of a thousand battles and common struggles now crowned, I did not give him the opportunity to refuse to accompany us, he simply accepted and I will always remember his generous gesture and his personal message always with frankness sincere real and centered.

For me q Dear uncle, permanent challenger of my intellect, if I have one, who today has guided us in a mystical and elegant way in this unrepeatable evening, Don Óscar Fitch Gómez, who also appears with his thousands of adventures in our book.

To end this part, with my heart in my hand, I highlight the honorable presence of the Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Mr. Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena , impeccable official of the Mexican state, with an exemplary career that I have had the honor to follow for more than four decades, when I had the greatest pleasure of meeting him full of admiration and today overflowing with sublime gratitude for his exquisite participation.

On the other hand, in an extremely emotional way, I highlight a list of formidable benefactors who were a fundamental part of this literary birth. The order of the mentions does not alter my perpetual appreciation for your generosity, unconditional support and philanthropy; to my brother in writing and in life, Juan Francisco Ealy Lanz Duret, who in his pages as General Director of El Universal, shelters the greatest expression of freedom in the country for more than a century.

To my personal editor – putative son – the playwright Hugo Alfredo Hinojosa for his poetry present in each of my texts.
To Marisela Benavides, my professional companion for almost a quarter of a century, who with her infinite patience, shapes my lyrics.

To Daniel Martínez Velazco, self-called, in his wonderful simplicity, simply editorial coordinator, and whom I consider the master of printing and editing, for his warm and rich advice; on hardcover, “couche” paper, photographic section, cover and a long list of fine details that embellished this baby.

To conclude I want to thank very particular and sensitive to my greatest professional mentor Mr. Eng. Don Daniel de Jesús Chávez Moran who with his illustrious personality has forged in me, as in thousands of colleagues, a new existence with his magical leadership that shapes and transforms lives in the world, changed me forever and filled me with clear examples of values ​​and principles that marked me for posterity in an endearing way.
