Hanoi will start construction of 3 more urban railway lines
Leaders of Hanoi City People’s Committee said that the city is preparing to invest until 2025 to start construction of 3 urban railway projects.
At the meeting On the morning of December 25, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, said that 3 urban railway projects will be started in the near future, including: Line 5, section Van Van. Cao – Hoa Lac, line 3, section of Hanoi – Hoang Mai Station and line 1 Yen Vien – Ngoc Hoi.
Metro Line 5 Van Cao – Hoa Lac is a standard urban railway i, electrification, including 6.5 km underground, 2 km overhead and 29 km above ground. The route passes through Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem districts and Hoai Duc, Quoc Oai and Thach That districts.
The project is under construction. The State Appraisal Council assessed that, if the investment policy is approved, construction will commence in 2022 and is expected to operate in 2026.
Line 3 section Hanoi – Hoang Mai station 8.7 km long, going underground all along the corridor Tran Hung Dao – Tran Thanh Tong – Kim Nguu – Nguyen Tam Trinh. Estimated implementation time is from 2023 to 2028.
Line 1 Yen Vien – Ngoc Hoi is choosing a technical design consultant. The project was pre-feasibility study and submitted to the Prime Minister at the end of 2002 with a total investment of more than 9,000 billion VND, divided into 3 phases. After nearly 20 years, the project has repeatedly adjusted the investment divergence and total investment.
Press exchange on the sidelines of the conference, Mr. Duong Duc Tuan said that the urban railway project of line 3 (Non section – Hanoi station) will be completed and put into operation by the end of 2022. This 8.5 km long elevated section has been put into operation. compared with previous plans, but the city will be determined to implement. In addition, Hanoi also continues to accelerate the research and preparation progress of the remaining urban railway lines to start construction in the period 2025 – 2030.
In terms of infrastructure, Hanoi will focus on investing in roads and framework traffic works connecting the central urban area with 5 satellite towns: Soc Son, Son Tay, Hoa Lac, Xuan Mai and Phu. Xuyen. At the same time, connecting the capital with provinces and cities in the capital region, through radial roads such as national highways 1, 3, 6, 21, 21B.
Along with that is investment in the roads west of Thang Long, Ngoc Hoi – Phu Xuyen, the southern trunk road, the ring roads including ring 3.5, ring 4 and ring 5, bridge system river crossings include: Tu Lien, Hong Ha, Me So (Ring 4); Duong 2 bridge (on the old National Highway 1A)…
“The formation of the Ring Road 4 will be very important, contributing to improving traffic transit through the city to replace the belt 3 and Thanh Tri bridge is overloaded”, said Mr. Tuan.
In 5 districts of Gia Lam, Dong Anh , Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong, Thanh Tri prepare to “up” the district in the near future, the city will gradually invest in a synchronous transport network in weak areas.
