Norway is moving towards a minority government

The Center Party and the Labor Party confirm that they want to form Norway’s new government, several media outlets state.

If they get the green light, they will form a minority government.

The Norwegian election’s largest party The Labor Party (Labor Party) and the Center Party (Sp) want to form a government together.

– We start the negotiation work to form a government together, says Labor Party leader Jonas Gahr Støre to the newspaper VG .

– We have strong ambitions for what we will achieve together, says Støre.

The Labor Party, the Socialist People’s Party and the Socialist Left (SV) have been in negotiations , but SV withdrew during the day.

According to sources in Norwegian TV2 , the departure from SV was due to Støre putting a lot of pressure on the Norwegian oil tax and exploration activity.

– Sp and Ap agree that SV is the preferred budget partner in the Storting, says the Center Party’s party leader Trygve Slagsvold Vedum at a press conference on Wednesday evening.

– SV is our partner in the Storting, and the party it is natural to go to when it comes to budget. We have established a tone, a collaboration and a very common understanding with them here, says Støre.
