Power outages in China will lead to higher Laptop prices, industry sources cited by the Taiwanese edition Digitimes.

Floods, fires , hurricanes and earthquakes, as well as atypical frosts, had a negative impact on the electronics industry. In the last two years, they have been joined by the pandemic factor, but it has turned out that these are not all the troubles that can befall the manufacturers of electronic devices.

Post to DigiTimes warns that the new energy saving policy in some provinces of China is jeopardizing the rhythmic operation of companies engaged in the production of laptops and components for them.

Manufacturers’ backup plans to keep their plants operating against a background of limited power will undoubtedly require additional costs. All of them will eventually fall on the shoulders of consumers, and laptops will rise in price again and will begin to be considered

During its last quarterly reporting period, HP Inc. and Dell warned that the two US companies could not produce laptops in the required quantities due to shortage of semiconductor components . Now the limited power supply for enterprises in China may further complicate the situation.
