Julian Weigl: “It's a top result”

Statements by Julien Weigl, Benfica player, to Eleven Sports after the victory by Benfica by 3-0 against Barcelona.

Analysis: “I think our plan worked very well. Of course Barcelona exchanged the ball very well, they are strong at that, they are always dangerous, but with this atmosphere in the stadium, pushing for us… I think the 3-0 is a top result for us, we are very happy to get it against a great club.”

Benfica’s best stage: “It’s a very good moment. championship and we started well in the Champions League. I’m happy for the moment I’m living, but it’s just the beginning of the season and I have to continue to maintain this level. I’m very happy with the affection we received from the fans.”

Next Champions League stage: “As I said, there were only two games. Barcelona have a lot of quality. We have to think game by game. Right now we are fine, we want to play the next game and close this period before the break for the selections with a victory”, he stressed, before pointing out who was the best on the field: “The fans.”
