The team of the House of Franko received an award in the capital of Serbia
The Lviv National Literary Memorial Museum of Ivan Franko received a special award “For Leadership” of the International museum award Živa Award. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, January 12, in Belgrade (Serbia).

Franko’s House became the first Ukrainian museum to be included in the list of winners of this prestigious award, which is awarded by the Forum of Slavic Cultures and the European Museum Academy (EMA) “, – written by the director of the museum Bogdan Tiholoz on Facebook.
It should be noted that this was ) presentation of awards of the “Live” award for 2020. At the ceremony, the Museum of Wood Carving (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was recognized as the best museum, and the Regional Ethnographic Open-Air Museum “Etar” (Bulgaria) was recognized as a cultural heritage site. Other participants were awarded special prizes.
Franko’s house received an award for leadership. The diploma states: “ For dedicated leadership and a clear mission based on the legacy of one of the best Slavic writers, the museum was singled out as an example of best practice in museum management of cultural heritage valorization ».
22 museums from Slovenia, Serbia, Russia were nominated for the award, Poland, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ukraine was represented only by the House of Franko from Lviv.
The Zhiva Prize has been the best museum and the best heritage site in Slavic countries since 2014 to promote experiments, projects and practices in museum sphere of these countries. The prize was initiated by an expert project group from the countries participating in the Forum of Slavic Cultures.
