[Korea Research] Seok-Yeol Yoon 38.8% Jae-Myung Lee 32.8% Cheol-Soo Ahn 12.1%

A poll showed that Lee Jae-myung led the Democratic Party of Korea candidate Lee Jae-myung within the margin of error.

Korea Research conducted a survey of 1003 voters nationwide from the 11th to the 12th on the request of (MBC) ‘100-minute discussion’ (confidence level of 95%, sampling error ± 3.1 percentage points), candidate Yoon recorded 38.8% and candidate Lee 32.8%. The difference in approval ratings between the two candidates is 6 percentage points, close to the maximum margin of error. People’s Party candidate Ahn Cheol-soo received 12.1 percent, while Justice Party candidate Shim Sang-jung received 2.5 percent. Compared to the poll conducted on the 7th and 8th of last week, candidate Yoon rose by 8.3 percentage points, and candidate Lee fell by 4.3 percentage points. In the question about the possibility of winning regardless of whether or not they support it, Candidate Lee took 47.3%, Candidate Yoon 35.1%, and Candidate Ahn 3.8%. Compared to the regular poll a month ago (from December 11 to 12 last year), Candidate Lee rose 4.6 percentage points, while Candidate Yoon fell 9.8 percentage points. Regarding the strength of support for the presidential candidate, 74.4% said they would continue to support the candidate they supported, and 24.8% answered that they could change to another candidate.

With Candidate Yoon and Regarding Candidate Ahn’s unification, 48.6% of the votes in favor were higher than those against (38%). In the unification candidate suitability survey, it was a close battle with 42.1% of Candidates Yoon and 39.8% of Candidates Ahn. Among the respondents in favor of unification, Candidate Yoon was 61.3%, higher than Candidate Ahn (31.4%).

Regarding whether or not the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, which has been controversial recently, will exist, ‘the current function and role should be reorganized’ was the highest at 39.9%, ‘should be abolished’ 32.3%, and ‘currently’ 10.1% said that it needs to be strengthened.
