Two arrested in connection with Ballyfermot shooting

Two people have been arrested in connection with the killing of Michael Tormey, who was shot dead in west Dublin last Sunday.

A man in his early 40s and a woman in her late 30s are being detained at Garda stations in west Dublin under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardaí say investigations are still ongoing.

Mr Tormey (49) was a married father with no known links to crime. He was shot dead outside his home on Thomond Road, Ballyfermot, just after 4.30am last Sunday.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for anyone with information in relation to this incident to get in contact.

They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the Thomond Road, Landen Road, Kylemore Road or the general Decies area between 3.30am and 5.30am on Sunday morning, January 9th.

People with information should contact Ballyfermot Garda station on 01 666 7200, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
