Isaigniani Ilayaraja needs no introduction as he continues to be one of the most influential personality in Tamil cinema. His film music has become a part of the lives of Tamils all over the globe and his magic touch is still sought by filmmakers and fans in the modern era too.
Ilayaraja who has scored music for more than 1000 films and composed close to 7000 songs in all Indian languages. Outside the musical sphere the legend has also produced films under the banner Pavalar Creations named after his eldest sibling who inspired him greatly.
Rajini’s ‘Rajathi Raja’ and Kamal Haasan’s ‘Singaravelan’ are two of the many films that was produced by Ilayaraja with his brother R.D. Bhaskar as executive producer. It is now said in Kollywood circles that the maestro is keen to revive his production banner and has started initial round of talks.
According to the buzz Ilayaraja has held talks with Rajini and Kamal for possible collaborations with him and they have also shown interest considering their long association with him. It is whispered that Kamal’s secret meeting with Ilayaraja in his new studio in Kodambakkam was regarding this though it was said to the press that it was a courtesy call.
The same sources add that the recent meeting between Yuvan Shankar Raja and Thalapathy Vijay also was regarding the same. A word of caution is that Ilayaraja or Yuvan have not made their plans official as of now and we have to wait for the same.
