Bohemians have announced the launch of a Bob Marley-inspired away football shirt, which 10% of the profits will be used to purchase music equipment for people in asylum centres across Ireland.
The club is paying tribute to Bob Marley’s last ever outdoor concert named ‘An Afternoon in the Park’ which took place in the club’s stadium, Dalymount Park, on 6th July 1980.
Daniel Lambert, COO of Bohemian FC, said of the shirt: “It brings me enormous joy to unveil this jersey today following years of work on the idea.
“The Marley concert at Dalymount is one of Ireland’s truly special musical events, his only ever Irish show and, sadly, his last ever outdoor one.
Bringing together two of people’s greatest loves, music and sport, the jersey pays homage to ‘An Afternoon in the Park’, the Marley Dalymount concert, in its design.
Pre-sale with shirts shipping from Feb 21st. Physical sale from Dalymount Feb 1st.

“His love of football is widely known to all, and that he played on our famous pitch before the concert, the same turf that some of the world’s best players have graced such as Pele, Best and Zidane is amazing.”
Featuring red, yellow and green details on the front as well as the rear neck and sleeve trims the away shirt also has an embroidered hem tag of the original concert ticket on the lower front. The exclusive shirt is available for pre-order now at www.marley-bohemianfc.com.
A big football fan, Bob Marley said “football is freedom” and his family have supported soccer projects.
His daughter Cedella, for example, helped fundraise for Jamaica’s women’s national team to play at the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
And this isn’t the first time that Bob Marley has inspired football kits, last year, a shirt released by Ajax in collaboration with the Marley family sold out in one day.
Bohemian FC are currently competing in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland and had finished 5th last season, 26 points behind champions Shamrock Rovers.
