Ricciardo: McLaren can 'open the doors' to Le Mans or Bathurst after F1

Daniel Ricciardo thinks driving for McLaren could open the doors to him in the 24 Hours of Le Mans or Bathurst once he decides to end his F1 career.

L ‘Australian recently suggested he would like to end his stay in the premier class with the Woking-based team unless there is a “miraculous” offer from the top team at the time falls on him.

But Ricciardo can already see opportunities ahead given McLaren’s involvement in other motorsports.

“Honestly, I haven’t thought about it too much yet, but yes, being at McLaren could definitely open up opportunities after F1.”

“Now , I have both hands hooked to F1, so I can’t say it was a thought, but it could, for sure, open doors after Formula 1.”

“Bathurst, Le Mans, Indycar… or even as a brand ambassador, test driver of the cars road trip, all that kind of stuff.”

“I’m sure some doors would probably be open to do that. It could be a very nice door that I could walk right into. It could be another advantage to finish my F1 career here.”
