A Brazilian soccer player scores an unusual goal and causes a controversy

“If it hadn’t been recorded, no one would believe it happened.” The episode, which went viral on networks, occurred during a match between Jacuipense and Doce Mel in the Bahia state championship.

Today 15:52Brazilian striker Jeam Eugenio de Oliveira scored a strange goal for his club, Jacuipense, during the match played on January 15 against Doce Mel, as part of the first round of the Brazilian state championship in Bahia. The episode, recorded and already viral on networks, occurred in the 70th minute of the contest. In the videos, the attacker is seen when he tries to receive a cross pass and is trapped between two Twelve Mel players. The striker falls to the ground, but manages to catch the ball between his legs and throws it over the goalkeeper. A defender from the opposing team then tries to play the ball off the goal line, but fails and the goal is scored. After that there were no changes in the score, so Oliveira’s shot sealed the victory for his team.

Soon, Twitter users expressed divided opinions about what happened. Thus, some extol the skill of the footballer and believe that the goal can receive the Puskás award, awarded annually by FIFA to the best goal scored during the season. Others consider that Oliveira only intended to create a scandal to get a penalty on account of the clash with the defenders, and forgot about the alleged foul when he saw the random outcome of the play. “He must be a Puskás candidate,” wrote one, and attached smiley emoticons. “If it hadn’t been recorded, no one would believe it happened,” tweeted another Internet user. “The guy was going to fake an injury and got up running after scoring,” someone else said. “That guy was whining a second ago,” another followed. “Suddenly, the injury became nonexistent after the goal,” another underlined.
