A successful revenge – VSV returns the favor to the KAC for the removal in the last derby

Nine days after the clear 9: 1 victory of the KAC, both teams initially focused on the defensive, good offensive actions were rare. In the 17th minute, the home side were allowed to cheer for the first time: Joel Broda captured the puck and hit through Sebastian Dahm’s legs to lead the Adler for the first time in the third season of the season. The Villachers, who tried very hard that evening, even increased in the 28th minute. Another disc loss by the KAC on the offensive blue line led to a counterattack and John Hughes finished dry. Shortly afterwards, the guests wrote that in their first power play, Lukas Haudum (31st) shortened to 2: 1. But Maximilian Rebernig restored Villach’s two-goal lead in the middle section. The KAC struck back in the third third. First Daniel Obersteiner met and three and a half minutes before the end Martin Schumnig even equalized. Derek Joslin still had the decision on the racket in regular time, but he failed on the bar. So the overtime had to decide and here the Villachers had the better end for themselves. Renars Krastenbergs pushed in with twelve seconds to go. After five defeats before, the VSV was able to win the prestige duel once again.
