The singer, 33, has broken her silence on the real reason behind her seven stone (100lbs) weight loss, talked candidly about her divorce and gushed over her new romance.
Adele stepped back firmly into the spotlight with her first interview in five years and covershoot, having recently announced her first new song in nearly six years ahead of her upcoming album.
Speaking to VOGUE, the Easy on Me singer said her anxiety led to her weight loss and she got “addicted” to becoming strong through working out.
She told the magazine: “It was because of my anxiety. Working out, I would just feel better. It was never about losing weight, it was always about becoming strong and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day.”
In a glamorous shoot, Adele wowed in two outfits as she first posed in a slip-on sunshine yellow dress with a decorative brooch.
For a seductive black and white snapshot, the hitmaker dressed in a black dress featuring a lace-up design and sky-high heels.
Elsewhere in the interview, Adele wore her heart on her sleeve as she talked about the end of her marriage to Simon Konecki with whom she shares eight-year-old son Angelo.
She added: “It just wasn’t right for me anymore. I didn’t want to end up like a lot of other people I knew. It wasn’t miserable miserable, but I would have been miserable had I not put myself first. But, yeah, nothing bad happened or anything like that.”
Now the songwriter has found new love with American sports agent Rich Paul and she gushed “he’s fing funny”.
Adele sent fans wild when she confirmed their relationship with an Instagram photo in recent weeks.
Already the pair have become one of the hottest celebrity new couples on the showbiz scene.
She said: “I did date before Rich, but they hated it. They’d find it stressful being out or seen with me…
“Whereas he’s not frazzled by it at all. It feels like it’s consistent and considerate enough that I don’t care who knows. He’s great. He’s so fking funny. He’s so smart, you know.”
She featured on both the UK and US cover of the magazine in a first of its kind for Vogue in its 129-year history.
