Drama in Hellabrunn Zoo: Visitors mourn the unfortunate meerkats

“Even if such an accident can happen at any time in the natural habitat of the animals, this complete loss of our meerkats is of course very good for the staff as well as numerous zoo guests and animal sponsors sad “, said Carsten Zehrer, zoological director in Hellabrunn, on record.

The great sympathy of the Munich residents can also be seen under the Facebook post that was posted in memory of Rwanda, Quodo, Quimbele and Rafiki. More than 600 expressions of condolences (as of September 30th) have accumulated there so far. “My heart is crying! I loved her so much ”, mourned a user.

Munich: Great sympathy after the zoo accident – “What a tragedy”

Others write that they had only recently admired the likeable meerkat quartet: “We always laughed when they sounded the alarm at planes. What a tragedy. ”Many fans post souvenir photos under the Hellabrunn post and give the injured people their best wishes:“ Come over the rainbow bridge, you sweeties! ”

What many visitors do should be happy: Hellabrunn has already announced that a new group of meerkats will move in “in the foreseeable future”. First, however, the soil consistency of the system must be checked again. tz.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
