The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) warned this Friday about the illegal marketing of the drug molnupiravir, the pill against COVID-19 manufactured by Merck & Co.
This drug received emergency use approval from Cofepris just a week ago, on January 7th.The agency explained that complaints have been received about products that are marketed as molnupiravir, for which it recalled that under the emergency use authorization, the drug cannot be sold. The presentations that are being sold fraudulently are:
- Mpiravir, from the Merit laboratory, in a white box presentation with green and yellow lines. It has an expiration date of October 2023 and contains 40 capsules of 200 milligrams.
- Molaz, from the Azista laboratory, in a white box with orange and purple lines; Contains 200 mg capsules and 40 capsules; is offered as an over-the-counter product.
