Alex Pereira shows off the incredible mansion he has brought his parents after wild four-year journey

Alex Pereira’s quick rise to superstardom has been nothing short of magnificent and he is now finally in a position where he is able to give back to his biggest supporters.

Since signing with the UFC in 2021, Alex Pereira has become one of the sport’s biggest stars, having claimed UFC middleweight and light heavyweight gold.

However, his road to the promotion wasn’t a smooth one and his life before becoming a fighter has been pretty well-documented after fans found a Google Earth image of the Brazilian working at a tire repair shop not too long ago.

‘Poatan’ is now regarded as one of the greatest fighters on the planet, currently ranked number three in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings, something he has recently been outspoken about.

This year, the 37-year-old has been the most active champion in the UFC, having defended his title successfully three times, and having earned a well-deserved break from fighting.

During his break from action, the Brazilian has been giving back to his biggest supporters and the ones who were there for him from the very beginning, his parents.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pereira shared that he has purchased his parents an incredible mansion in Brazil, moving them out of their rough living conditions.

“Photo 1, four years ago having lunch at my parents house,” Pereira said in the post, showing a photo of him sitting on a rundown couch with exposed brickwork behind him and surrounded by boxes.

“Photo 2, their home today. Thank you very much my God,” the UFC champion said as he showed off an incredible mansion.

The 37-year-old champion has previously openly talked about his struggles throughout life, with him now able to give back to parents who worked hard for him and his siblings.

Although ‘Poatan’ made sure to give back to his parents, he has also made sure to treat himself with some luxuries since becoming a huge star.

The UFC light heavyweight champion recently took part in Complex’s sneaker shopping series, where famous people go and buy unique sneakers whilst telling their stories.

Before spending over $2000 on sneakers, Pereira admitted that it’s extremely uncharacteristic of him to spend that much on sneakers as he was never able to do so when he was younger.

“Well, it was really hard (to come by good sneakers when I was younger), my dad would buy us a pair of shoes at the end of the year and we had to make them last the whole year, so by the next year, we’d have new shoes,” Pereira admitted.

Although the 37-year-old’s next title defense is yet to be confirmed, it is highly likely to come against Magomed Ankalaev, despite him expressing his desire to fight heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.
