The leader of the PP, Pablo Casado, and the president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, have sealed the peace after the differences on the labor reform that unions and employers agreed with the Government of Pedro Sánchez . Both have taken the opportunity to show the trust and good relationship they have.
“The CEOE has never given us an indication of what we should do, nor have we given the CEOE”, Casado assured during his speech at the table ‘Tourism: keys to the competitiveness of a strategic sector ‘ in the framework of the 8th Tourism Innovation Forum organized by Hotusa Explora, moderated by former PP minister and economist Josep Piqué.
For his part, Garamendi has acknowledged that “the work we do and the work we have to do is perfectly compatible with the oppositions that may have the PP Neither do I call Pablo to say what I have to do, nor does Pablo call me.”
In fact, Garamendi has joked about the possibility of reserving a room like did John Lennon and Yoko Ono
and invite the press to demonstrate the good relationship with Pablo Casado.
TOURIST PERTE
They have been so in tune that both have agreed on the need to demand a Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) exclusively for tourism , as the entire tourism industry has been demanding for a long time.
“I ask for a PERTE for the tourism sector. I know that there is help that has been given, but badly given like that of Plus Ultra and others with controversies within the sector (referring to the Pachá group)”, said Casado.
The same request has been made by Garamendi, who has also asked that the main opposition party be in the management of European funds.
In this sense, the leader of the PP believes that “the alternative to European funds will be key. We are very concerned about the distribution. Because that aid in other times has led to corruption. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen.”
Casado has demanded for the tourism sector “lower taxation, more training, more competitiveness and legal certainty”.
Against Garzón and Díaz
On the other hand, Casado has taken advantage of the controversy that arose with the Minister of Consumption, Alberto Garzón,
to attack him for other statements against the tourism sector that aroused much criticism more than one year.
“I vindicate the sector. I rectify those who think that it is a seasonal, precarious sector with low added value. The employers are doing well and the workers”, he pointed out.
Garamendi has also responded to the announcement made two days ago by Labor Minister Yolanda Díaz announces a plan to promote “co-management” in companies. “Co-management would ruin everyone”, declared the president of the employers’ association.
