[Armed Robbery] Police detained 5 people for allegedly selling expensive watches and robbed buyers of 715,000 yuan in cash with knives

The police arrested 5 people in connection with an armed robbery on Mody Road in Tsim Sha Tsui last month (30th). On the day of the incident, a male victim mistakenly handed over to the fake seller online and met to buy at Mody Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. Three valuable Rolex watches were robbed in the street by the culprits armed with a beef knife and robbed of 715,000 yuan in cash and fled.

Yau Tsim Police District Criminal Division Chief Inspector (Investigation) Qiu Yuxing said today (3rd) that the male victim had met a seller on the Internet earlier, and the other party falsely claimed to have high value The luxury watches were sold. Later, they met on Mody Road in Tsim Sha Tsui on the evening of September 30. They bought three luxury watches for 715,000 yuan. Upon arrival, the victim was threatened by two men who had been in ambush with a one-foot-long beef knife and snatched them away. The victim had a rucksack carrying 715,000 yuan in cash and an ID card. The assailant quickly boarded a private car and fled without a trace.

    After the police received the report, they looked through a large number of closed-circuit television video clips and locked the identity of the person involved and the vehicle involved. On the 2nd, 5 men (29-46 years old) were arrested in Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei and Tung Chung, including the driver of the vehicle involved, the swordsman and the person responsible for “watching the water”. The case was handed over to the 10th Team of the Yau Tsim Criminal Support Team. It does not rule out that another person will be arrested.
