Arsenal are interested in signing Alex Meret from Napoli, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that Arsenal have been looking at Joan Garcia, but the Gunners are now focusing on Meret.
Football Transfers has noted that Meret is out of contract at Napoli at the end of the season, so Arsenal can open talks with the goalkeeper in January with a view to snapping him up on a free transfer in the summer of 2025. There is, though, the option of another year with Napoli in Meret’s current agreement.
David Raya is the number one goalkeeper for Arsenal, who are looking at Meret as a back-up to the Spain international. The Italy international goalkeeper has made five appearances in Serie A for Napoli this season and played 31 times in the league for the Italian club in the 2023-24. Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season.
