Arsenal have been one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs so far during the summer transfer window, as Mikel Arteta looks to rebuild his squad after a disappointing season.
The Gunners narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification after an end of season collapse, and Arteta has moved quickly to bolster his squad.
So far, Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos and Matt Turner have all arrived at The Emirates, but it appears that the Spaniard is not yet finished.
As per The Star, the Gunners are now considering a shock move for Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The report claims that the Frenchman could be the target of an audacious offer from Arsenal, who are looking to add to their midfield options.
Kante is being linked with a move across the capital to Arsenal
Kante, 31, has just 12 months remaining on his current Blues deal, and Arsenal are therefore hopeful that they may choose to cash in on him now, rather than losing him for free next summer.
Kante has established himself as one of the world’s best midfielders over the past six years, since winning the Premier League title with Leicester City in 2016.
He followed that up by winning it again with Chelsea the following year, and has gone on to make more than 250 appearances for the club.
His form dipped last year though, and with the likes of Conor Gallagher, Billy Gilmour and Ethan Ampadu all pushing for first team chances at Chelsea, they could opt to sell Kante this summer.
