The recent gloomy weather has got us prematurely reaching for our Autumn favourites,, including swapping our beachy bronzed makeup for an altogether darker, more moody look.
A dark lip is a signature style for most people as the weather gets colder, and although it’s technically still summer, the darker evenings and rainy weather is already giving us all the Autumn feels.
This year one of the must-have beauty items of the impending season is Clinique’s Black Honey lipstick, £24 here, which gives a semi-sheer swipe of dark, berry red and has exploded on TikTok.
The now-viral lipstick blends with the natural tone of your lips to create a completely unique final colour, with a sheer, glossy finish that’s perfect for sultry, moody, Autumn-ready beauty looks.
However, before you go rushing off to Clinique’s website, you might want to check your existing makeup bag, because one TikToker discovered she already owned an almost identical lipstick – and it’s more than 50% cheaper.

Captioning her video: “You’re welcome, internet”, TikToker SurvivalSkillz3 shared that Kiko’s Jelly Stylo Lipstick in shade 509 Persian Red, £10.99 here, is not only an almost identical shade, but it also has the same glossy, sheer finish that’s making Clinique’s version so popular.
Just like its more expensive counterpart, Kiko’s lipstick lands somewhere between a stick and a gloss, giving a buildable coverage that can be applied on its own or over an existing lipstick.
Whilst Clinique’s version promises more of a balm-like texture, Kiko’s is closer to a gel, with both gliding onto your lips and giving longlasting hold whilst also leaving your lips feeling soft and hydrated.

Kiko’s Jelly Stylo range comes in 13 different shades, and contains an enveloping polymer, which when combined with humectants and plant-based amino acids leaves a soft and smooth texture on your lips.
In their video, SurvivalSkillz3 applies both lipstick along side each other, showing that both the colour and coverage are an almost perfect match, with Kiko’s version costing just £11, whilst Clinique’s comes in at £24 – saving you £13.
We’re sure it’s only a matter of time before the budget-friendly dupe goes just as viral as Clinique’s Black Honey lipstick, £24 here, has, so now’s your chance to be a trendsetter, before Kiko’s Jelly Stylo Lipstick in shade 509 Persian Red, £10.99 here, sells out.
