Astronaut Megan McArthur participated in an interview with America’s Test Kitchen, in which he revealed what it’s like to eat on the International Space Station.
In the video, which can be seen above, McArthur explains that supplies are replenished periodically, as astronauts do not “cook” exactly, but rather prepare food that has already been made.
Among the examples, the astronaut showed several packages of pre-ready and dehydrated foods, which only need a little water. For breakfast, for example, it is possible to eat cereal with milk, strawberries and even eggs: all these items are in sealed packages and just add water, wait a few minutes and eat.

McArthur explained that one of the most successful foods is tortillas, since astronauts don’t use plates and flatbread is perfect for mixing food. Despite this, she said that it is important to be careful when biting into the tortilla, as the food can fall to the sides and fly away in zero gravity.
