Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 Gets Art Installations in Japan

Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 is almost here, and there’s a lot of hype around it. The new episode “Danzai” (translated as “Sentencing”) will debut just past midnight on January 9 (which technically makes it January 10). But if that’s still too long to wait, the anime’s staff is putting up massive art installations in the meantime to give people something to look at and to get everyone even more hyped.

The art installations revolve around the next five episodes of Attack on Titan. There are storyboards, key frames and designs. They’re being put on the walls of specific places: Shibuya’s Tokyū Dogenzaka Happy Board and Tokyo Metro/Shinjuku Metro Super Premium Set are both in Tokyo; the JR West/Osaka Station Sakurabashi Avenue is in Osaka; and JR Tokai/Nagoya Wide Wall is in Nagoya.

The wall art in Tokyo is listed as being about 7 by 74 feet.

These will only be up for a limited time. They’ll be there until January 9, to coincide with the new season’s release. When the new season does finally come out, Funimation and Crunchyroll will both be streaming it.

Attack on Titan is a massive success story, both as a manga and anime. Kodansha publishes the original manga, and gave this description of it:

“A century ago, the grotesque giants known as Titans appeared and consumed all but a few thousand humans. The survivors took refuge behind giant walls. Today, the threat of the Titans is a distant memory, and a boy named Eren yearns to explore the world beyond Wall Maria. But what began as a childish dream will become an all-too-real nightmare when the Titans return and humanity is once again on the brink of extinction …

Attack on Titan is the award-winning and New York Times-bestselling series that is the manga hit of the decade! Spawning the monster hit anime TV series of the same name, Attack on Titan has become a pop culture sensation.”
