Aviation, Insurance Experts To Grace 4th CHINET Aviacargo Conference

August 16, (THEWILL) –The 4th edition of the CHINET Aviacargo Conference is set to take place on August 22, 2024, in Lagos. Organised by ATQNEWS LTD, the conference will bring together aviation, cargo, and insurance industry leaders, as well as key regulators to tackle the challenges facing the industry.

CHINET is the only air cargo event in West Africa. This year’s edition will have a strong cast of insurance professionals led by the National Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Omosehin.

Other insurance CEOs listed to grace the occasion include the former Chairman of the African Insurance Brokers Association, Chief Babajide Olatunde-Agbeja; Mr. Eddie Efekoha, GMD, Consolidated Hallmark Holdings; MD, Unitrust Insurance Co. Ltd., Mr. Dayo Arowojolu; Mr. Moruf Apampa, CEO, NSIA Insurance, and Mr. Babajide Fajemirokunc MD/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc.

The topic of the relationship between airlines and insurance will be led by Mr. Eddie Efekoha with Messers Fajemirokun, Apampa & Ms. Omowale Olatunde-Agbeja as discussants, while aviation regulations for air cargo will be delivered by the Acting Director General (DG) of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt Chris Najomo.

The Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku and the new Directorate of Cargo Development Services will showcase the pivotal role FAAN and its airports have been playing in growing air cargo in Nigeria, while the CEO of the most successful airline in Nigeria, Capt Ed Boyo, will share his experience with the audience.

The aviation panel will be moderated by the General Secretary of Aviation Round Table, Olumide Ohunayo, while the panellists will include the President of the Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Nwuba.

The Guest Speaker is the Chairman of MCDAN Aviation Ghana, Dr. Daniel Mckorley. There will be presentations on the ‘Role of Airports in Growing Air Cargo’ by the Acting COO of the privately run airport MMA2, Remi Jibodu, while the COO of Nigerian award-winning airline, Ibom Air, George Uriesi, will be speaking on the ‘Role of Airlines in the Development of Air Cargo.’

While Capt. John Ojikutu will speak on the ‘Opportunities of Domestic Air Cargo in Nigeria’, Ayo Ife-Lewis of Domestic Air Cargo Powerhouse Greater Washington will speak on the ‘Challenges of Domestic Air Cargo in Nigeria.’

‘Export Integrity and Security’ will be handled by the CEO of Pathfinders, Mrs. Nkechi Onyeso, while NAFDAC, Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) will be sharing the ‘Role of their Agencies in Guaranteeing the Product Integrity of Exports from Nigeria’.

Similarly, the Freight Forwarders NAGAFF and APFFLON will be explaining their ‘Roles in the Growth of Air Cargo Business in Nigeria’.
