Tested service: Azire VPN
Price: Costs from SEK 37.50 per month
Swedish Azire claims to take anonymity and security at face value seriously, among other things by ensuring that you do not save any logs. This is admittedly difficult to control, but is hopefully true as Sweden is one of the “14 Eyes countries” (an intelligence alliance consisting of Sweden and 13 other countries).
Rating 4 out of 5
Rating
Azire VPN is a cheap service with fast Swedish servers and access to all tested Swedish streaming services. But the number of servers is low and the speeds and access to streaming services in countries other than Sweden are uneven.
Positive
Access to SVT Play, TV4 Play, Swedish Disney Plus and American Netflix
Negative
Azire also offers full anonymity when creating accounts and has a large variety of payment options, including cryptocurrencies, Paypal and cash payment.
You are also competitive when it comes to pricing. An annual subscription costs a low SEK 37.50 a month, and if you sign up for a two-year subscription, you can reduce the monthly cost to SEK 32.50. There are also monthly subscriptions for SEK 50 and three-month subscriptions for SEK 40 per month.
These are good prices, but even lower costs for the longer subscriptions would have been desirable. Now you do not gain much by tying yourself up for one or two years.
That you do not have a free or try-out variant is not so surprising (few vpn services have it), but it’s a shame you only have a seven day “money back guarantee” (most others have 30 days).
The number of simultaneous devices are relatively low five, but on the other hand it should be enough for most.
Fast Swedish servers
Azire has only 65 servers spread across 14 countries. It also turns out that the speeds are unfortunately quite uneven. Against Swedish servers, there are no problems, on the contrary. We get up to 125 Mbit / s, which is really good. But against the British we only get 40 Mbit / s and against the American 32 Mbit / s, which is failed for both.
This on a 250 Mbit / s connection, which makes Azire VPN up to 50 percent for Swedish servers, 16 percent for British and 13 percent for American.
When it comes to access to streaming services, it is a bit the same. We access all Swedish services, ie SVT Play, TV4 Play and Swedish Disney Plus. We also access American Netflix (if almost all VPN services can handle), but not British BBC Iplayer.
How to settle for fast Swedish servers and access to Swedish streaming services Azire VPN is a really good and affordable service. But if you want more than that, the quality is a little too uneven for the service to be recommended.
