Batters with most Test centuries vs India

Steve Smith hit his 11th Test hundred against India, lighting up the MCG crowd in the Boxing Day Test on December 27

Smith broke Joe Root’s record for most hundreds against India in the longest format of the game 

Smith has scored a hundred once in ever four innings against India in Test cricket, dominating the Indian bowlers over the years

Joe Root is at the second spot with 10 hundreds in 30 innings against India in Test cricket

Former Australia captain is third on the list. He scored 8 hundreds in 29 innings against India

Steve Smith became the third fastest to score 34 Test hundreds. He got there in 201 innings, slower than Sachin Tendulkar (192) and Ricky Ponting (193). 

Smith also brought up his fifth hundred in the Boxing Day Tests. He loves batting at the MCG. 

Smith averages 82 in Tests in Melbourne, having scored over 1200 runs at the iconic venue
