Ben Affleck *Really* Didn’t Like Making Justice League

Nowadays, I understand that Ben Affleck is on the up and up. He is the human embodiment of the feeling you get when Dunkin’ accidentally gives you an extra Munchkin. I mean, the man’s dating J-Lo, which should be enough to clear any individual person of and all resentment and regret.

Apparently not. “Justice” and “League” still seem like sensitive topics for the star. If you’re just catching up, Affleck appeared as the Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Suicide Squad (2016), Justice League (2017), none of which were particularly good films. We know it. He knows it. He recently told The Los Angeles Times that filming Justice League was “the worst experience.” He continued, adding, “It was awful. It was everything that I didn’t like about this. That became the moment where I said, ‘I’m not doing this anymore.’ It’s not even about, like, Justice League was so bad. Because it could have been anything.”

Now, in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Affleck had a few more choice words for the maligned superhero team-up. “I had a really nadir experience around Justice League for a lot of different reasons,” he said. “Not blaming anybody, there’s a lot of things that happened. But really what it was is that I wasn’t happy. I didn’t like being there. I didn’t think it was interesting. And then some really s—ty things, awful things happened. But, that’s when I was like, I’m not going to do that anymore.”

Listen, we didn’t like Justice League either. Not many people did! We’re just saying that, you know, maybe (nearly five years after the fact) we can all act like we all didn’t have to pretend to fear a CGI abomination named Steppenwolf. We’re looking ahead to the thousand-some superhero outings in our futures. Considering that Affleck will suit up again in The Flash, maybe he should, too.
