In this massive world of Pokemon, there are many strong ones and some whose potential hasn’t been realized yet. Mind you that there is no such thing as a weak Pokemon because every one of them is powerful in their own way.
One such Pokemon is the beaver-type Bidoof, who’s often been reduced to a HM slave and is generally not used for battles. Trainers and fans overlook Bidoof’s skills and the formidable Pokemon it could become if given proper training.
And so, the franchise revealed something that made everyone realize just how awesome Bidoof can be.
The Pokemon franchise started streaming the anime short Bidoof’s Big Stand on its English YouTube channel recently and has gained vast popularity.
The 8-minute short starts by showing this one particular Bidoof who isn’t quite the favorite of anyone.
The part that breaks your heart is that this Bidoof tries his best to help everyone, but his good intentions result in others being injured or creating more problems.
After being rejected by everyone, Bidoof is saved by a trainer who takes him in and trains him. But Bidoof wanted to be more than just a Pokemon to the trainer; he wanted to be a friend.
Soon Bidoof’s time to shine came during a Pokemon battle, and he aced his first fight. Well, there was a second and more challenging face-off, but if I were to spill all the details here, what would be the point of the video?
The animation for this anime short was a mix of western and Japanese styles, which looked fabulous. I hope they continue to make these in the same manner and centered on other underrated Pokemons.
The Bidoof one was refreshing and made me tear up a bit too, and now I can’t wait to see which other Pokemon they’re going to feature!
