Binance Assembles Crime Crime Investigator Team

The Binance cryptocurrency platform must show its white paws. Surrounded by inquiries from regulators, the company announces the hiring of two former US tax officials specializing in criminal investigations.

Matthew Price takes on the role of Senior Director of Investigations. For the US tax authorities, he oversaw cybercrime, money laundering and financial crime investigations, and more generally participated in joint efforts to mitigate threats related to counterterrorism and counterintelligence. The hires follow recent appointments at Binance of former Europol specialist covering Dark Web investigations, Nils Andersen-Röed and former Mariposa County detective in California, Aron Akbiyikian, who also led investigations. at Chainalysis and TRM Labs. A shocking team of investigators, therefore, whose mission is not only to hunt down crypto criminals, but also to improve Binance’s image.
