Blow for Manchester United as target holds talks with European champions

Manchester United will be looking to remain in the top four of the Premier League by securing three points against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Red Devils will meet the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium as they continue to hunt down Champions League qualification.

Erik Ten Hag’s side have had a brilliant season so far, having won the Carabao Cup in February and reached the final of the FA Cup next month.

Throughout the season, centre-backs Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have built a solid partnership and have certainly helped transform the defence at Old Trafford this season.

However, the Red Devils are looking to bring in a new centre-back this summer to provide some competition for the pair.

Now, though, it appears that they have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit of one of their top targets.

According to RCM SportsNapoli defender Kim Min-Jae has held talks with French champions Paris Saint Germain.

Kim Min-Jae will have have several clubs battling for his signature this summer

The report explains that the South Korea international has held talks with both Manchester United and PSG and that the French giants have the defender on their wishlist for the summer.

The 26-year-old has attracted the attention of several clubs after an outstanding campaign in Italy.

Kim Min-Jae signed for the Italian giants from Fenerbahce for around £15m last summer, and as helped his current side to win the Serie A title for the first time in three decades this term.

The Napoli defender’s contract doesn’t expire until 2025, but it has been reported that he has a release clause of £43m.

However, the release clause is only active between the 1st of July and the 15th of July meaning that teams will have to be fast if they are to activate the clause to sign him.

However, the defender has made it clear that he prefers a move to the Premier League and United could therefore beat PSG to his signature.
