Borussia Dortmund fans issued this advice by their club – If travelling to Newcastle United match

Around three thousand Borussia Dortmund fans will be inside St James’ Park on Wednesday night.

The first time the two clubs have ever met in a competitive match.

The Bundesliga club have issued the following advice (see below) to the Borussia Dortmund fans who are going to the game.

As was the case with PSG fans, the Bigg Market recommended as the meeting point for Borussia Dortmund fans on Wednesday before the game.

Fan info for the away game in Newcastle

BVB will play against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Wednesday. Approximately 3,000 BVB fans will support the team at the stadium. Kick-off is at 20:00 local time. We would like to recommend all travelling BVB fans to read the fan information summarised below ahead of the trip in order to avoid problems on the day of the match.

Arrival

Please note that you need a passport to enter Great Britain.

Meeting point

Newcastle Police recommend “Bigg Market” as a meeting point on matchday. From the meeting point, the stadium can be reached by foot or by metro.

Admission

The stadium opens 90 minutes before kick-off.
The away sector is located in the “Leazes Stand”.
Away fans can access the away block via turnstiles/entrances 89-94.
Please note that away fans are not allowed in the home sections.
The following fan paraphernalia is permitted:

Fence flags provided space is available (up to a maximum size of 1.50m in height x 2.50m in width)
Please note that they may not be hung over emergency exit signs.

Forbidden items:

Megaphones
Drums
Pyrotechnics
Permitted items:

Bags and rucksacks (max. size up to DIN A4)
Power banks
Forbidden items:

Bags and rucksacks above DIN A4 size
Photography devices and cameras
Bags and cans of any type
Large umbrellas
There is no drop-off point for bags and rucksacks at the stadium.

At the stadium

The away block at the stadium is located on level 7.
As is standard practice for international matches, the unwritten rule of free seating applies within the seated blocks. So if the seat displayed on your ticket is occupied, there will certainly be something free in other areas of the away blocks.
Smoking is not permitted across the entire stadium premises.
Please note that food and drinks may not be taken into the stands. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is only permitted in the concourse areas.
Payment can generally be made by card in the stadium. Cash may also be used at one kiosk in the away area.
Smoking is forbidden in the stadium.
Depending on the situation, there may be a block closure after the match.

Youth League

The Youth League match will take place at Gateshead International Stadium on Wednesday 25/10 at 15:00 local time.

The tickets can be purchased in advance via Newcastle United’s Online Ticket Shop. Ticket prices for the Youth League match are £5 for adults, £2 for children and young people and over 65s. There will be no ticket office on the day.

BVB fans will use turnstiles/entrances 1&2.

Please note that food and drink cannot be brought into the stadium. No alcohol will be served in the stadium.
