For the first time this season, Bourg-en-Bresse signed a second victory in a row in the Eurocup on the occasion of the reception of Olimpija Ljubljana (76-69).

Bourg-en-Bresse has been waiting for this since the start of the Eurocoupe season. After their success on the Reyer Venice floor last week, the Burgiens took advantage of the reception of Olimpija Ljubljana to sign a second victory in a row on the European scene. The start of the match first saw the Slovenians take the lead before conceding an 8-0 which then allowed JL Bourg to take the lead on the scoreboard but, at the end of the first ten minutes, it was Maxime Roos (2 points) who equalized. The defense of Bourg-en-Bresse then asphyxiated the attack of Ljubljana, which had to be satisfied with five points during the ten minutes leading to halftime. Thanks in particular to Maxime Courby (13 points), JL Bourg took the opportunity to stand out on the scoreboard and return to their locker room with a twelve-length advantage.

Bourg-en-Bresse did not crack

However, the Olimpija Ljubljana showed resource on the return to the Ekinox floor. Thanks to a 16-3 at the very start of the third quarter, Yogi Ferrell’s teammates (24 points) melted their deficit from fifteen to just two lengths. Without panicking, Laurent Legname’s players did not lose their cool and managed to keep their hand to reach the fourth quarter with a seven-point lead. A shiver once again passed through the backs of the JL Bourg supporters when, five minutes from the end of the match, the Olimpija Ljubljana was able to come back to only two points . The reaction was immediate with a 12-3 which allowed the Burgiens to give themselves a little more air. A final shot from Maxime Courby gives Bourg-en-Bresse a seven-point victory (76-69), his fourth in the Eurocup and the third in a row in all competitions. A success that allows the Bressan club to move up to seventh place in its group.
