Everton hopes to take over Donny van de Beek in the winter transfer period from Manchester United. Van de Beek was also on the list at Everton last summer, but then a rental transfer failed. That’s what Marcel Brands, Everton’s technical director, tells the NOS.
Van de Beek was also on the bench against Everton for ninety minutes, so the rumors about the departure of the former Ajax player from Manchester United are increasing. ‘We had him on our list’, Brand says to the NOS. “At the beginning of the transfer window we informed United, then it was impossible. And it’s early October, so much can still happen with injuries. United are playing on various fronts, it’s hard to say now.’
Brands thinks it’s a great pity that Van de Beek isn’t playing now. “He’s a very good player, no doubt about it. Such a boy wants to play and wants to return to the Dutch national team. But you know that at such a club the pressure is great and the competition is huge. If you see what United had on the bench: Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Paul Pogba…’
