The President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero has been arrested.

Reports monitored on Arise TV on Monday said Mr. Ajaero was arrested by the Department of State Security Service (DSS) at the Airport on his way out of the country.

The Labour Leader had earlier been questioned by the Police on allegations bothering on coup and subversion in which one Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, a British national, is wanted.

The British national was declared wanted for allegedly orchestrating a plot to overthrow the government led by President Bola Tinubu.

Police said Mr. Wynne rented a space at Labour House in Abuja under the guise of operating an ‘Iva Valley Bookshop’ and establishing ‘STARS of Nations Schools’ to cover up his subversive activities.

The police claim that Mr. Wynne was involved in planning and financing the August protests, which were part of a broader conspiracy to destabilise the country and instigate an unconstitutional regime change.

The NLC, the report said, is poised to take a position on the arrest of its President shortly.
