Burr Island have shared their latest single ‘Later’, via Left Foot Records.

A resonant offering from the London-based duo, the track urges its listener to savour each moment as if it were their last. Embracing rich, warm acoustics, the duo develop their take on indie-folk, layering harmonic melodies over a stripped-back instrumentation. Haunting yet deeply moving, the track taps into moments of inner peace and self-realisation, making way for more introspective songwriting.

Made up of Tom England and Oskar Porter, Burr Island have spent the last year developing their live performance. Gracing a jam-packed Union Chapel and supporting the likes of Ocean Colour Scene, the outfit hold a unique bond with their crowd,  soon to embark on their headline show at St Pancras Old Church. Following the steps of Paul Simon, Crosby Stills & Nash, Nick Drake, The Beach Boys and Cat Stevens, the duo’s material continues to elevate and expand in new directions.

Speaking on the making of their latest release, Burr Island share: “‘Later, you will understand how truly good these times have been’ is faintly scrawled at the bottom corner of a large abstract piece of art hanging up in the building that Oskar used to live in. So faint, you could easily miss it. We’re glad Oskar didn’t, as those words unravelled into the song you hear today. ’Later’ is about being in the last moments of one’s life, when ‘twilight is paper thin’, and to look back at a life unlived.”

Tune in now.
